Austenitic Stainless Steel
Low carbon, iron-chromium-nickel stainless alloys containing more than 16% chromium, and 4 to 22% nickel to provide an austenitic structure at normal temperatures. These alloys cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but can be hardened by cold working. They are normally non-magnetic in the annealed condition, but can become slightly magnetic after cold working depending upon composition.

Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipe

Austenitic stianless steel pipe recers to the normal temperature of austenitc stianless steel containing about 18% of Cr, 8%~10% of Ni, 0.1% of C and a stable austenite. Austenitic chrome nickel stianless steel pipe including the famous 18Cr-8Ni steel. On this basis to increase the Cr, Ni content and adding Mo, Cu, Si, Nb, Ti and other elements developed high Cr-Ni series of steel pipe. Austenitic stainless steel pipe is non-meganetic and has high toughness and plasticity. However, the strength of austenitic stainless steel pipe is low which can not be strengthened by phase transformation and can only be strengthened by cold working, such as addign S, Ca, Se, Te and other elements which has a good easing cutting characteristic.
